Yin Yoga is informed primarily by three sources: Traditional Chinese Medicine, yogic tradition, and the science of fascia. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn is governed by the Metal Element.
This workshop offers an embodied exploration of the Metal Element through Yin Yoga postures, meditation, and conversation about cultivating this energy in everyday life.
Expect a full-body Yin Yoga practice, centring poses associated with the Lung and Large Intestine organs and channels, which regulate the Metal element in the body. Together, the Lung and Large Intestine systems help us receive what serves us and release what does not. Together these systems govern resolving, releasing, and purification.
Whether you are new to Yin Yoga, or an experienced practitioner, you are welcome at this workshop. Yin Yoga is a mostly floor-based, prop-supported practice, with optional breath practices and meditation offered with the poses. After practice, Yin Yoga practitioners typically report feeling more grounded, clear, and connected. The workshop ends with a long, nourishing Savasana.
