JoAnne Kazis turned to yoga to strengthen her body and calm her mind and has come to appreciate the physical and emotional rewards that come with a yoga practice both on and off the mat.
JoAnne teaches Restorative Yoga and Flow & Restore classes at Artemis Yoga. In Restorative Yoga, students can expect to use props like blocks, bolsters, and blankets to support them in restful restorative yoga postures. Flow & Restore is a similar offering, with a little more space for movement. Some students find that adding some gentle flow to their restorative helps calm the mind more than stillness alone, so if you’re new to Restorative Yoga, Flow & Restore is a great place to get to know the practice.
JoAnne is a Yoga Alliance registered teacher at the RYT-500 level and received her RYT -200 certification through YogaWorks under the instruction of Natasha Rizopoulos. JoAnne recently completed Dianne Bondy’s The Path to Yoga, Justice and Equity 300 YTT. She has also completed Yoga For All Training with Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes, Restorative Yoga Teacher Training and the Power of Touch Training with Nicole Clark. She has completed additional training for all levels of kids’ yoga (baby & toddler, kids, tween/teen) through ChildLight Yoga.
