Eliza came to yoga initially to improve her physical wellbeing and to achieve greater balance in her stressful schedule. Since then, Eliza has explored a variety of styles and has been inspired to apply yoga philosophy in her daily life.
Eliza strives to foster exploration, self-discovery, and wellness in her yoga classes. Her teaching combines Iyengar traditions – which emphasize precise alignment of poses – with Vinyasa flow in an intentional sequence that is invigorating and calming. Students can expect to explore a dynamic flow focusing on strength, flexibility, and stability in body and mind.
Eliza has been practicing yoga for over ten years, and she completed a 500-hour teacher training in the Yoga Works method under the instruction of Natasha Rizopolous. She continues to deepen her own practice and gain inspiration from Natasha as well as Patricia Walden and Barbara Benagh.
Eliza holds a Masters Degree in Cultural Anthropology from Columbia University. Eliza’s passion lies in providing engaging and empowering learning experiences for all students. Off the mat, Eliza enjoys hiking, tennis, cross-country skiing, bicycling, running, and traveling.
