As a teenager finishing up her athletic career, Katherine McManus was looking for a way to stay fit. Now, after more than a decade of practice, she can confidently say she found so much more.
Katherine’s training has spanned multiple styles of yoga. In 2016, as a sophomore in college, she completed a 200-Hour RYT with Petra Lehman-Brauer at Create Power Yoga. She continued her yoga education through several Hands-On Assisting Trainings, and in December 2020, completed her first 300-Hour RYT with Down Under School of Yoga, with Natasha Rizopoulos as her lead trainer.
Katherine prides herself on being a lifelong student, and her teaching is deeply inspired by her own practice. In September 2021, she began an Ashtanga practice with Randy Aromando. Although she had fallen in and out of Ashtanga yoga previously—taking her first led class at 18—it was Randy who taught her true dedication to the method. In the spring of 2025, Katherine completed another 300-Hour RYT training at Yoga East with Kimberly Dahlmann. Studying with Kimberly has been one of the greatest joys of her journey and is something she hopes to continue. The current owner of Yoga East, Chris Rubin, has also been a generous mentor to Katherine.
When teaching, Katherine doesn’t take herself too seriously—you can expect laughter and endless opportunities for questions. She is passionate about alignment and will work to help you find it in a way that’s unique to your body and lifestyle. Coming to class means joining a community, and Katherine can’t wait to welcome you into it.
