Yes! The studio is currently offers both in-studio and online classes. Most classes are hybrid classes. Artemis has two studio classrooms to accommodate many students.
Look at our schedule for “In Studio” classes. Additionally, most of our classes are hybrid and online via Zoom.
Currently, it is optional to wear a mask inside our studio per the Watertown guidance effective October 21, 2021.
Artemis Yoga adheres to current state and local public health department policies.
You can sign up online or come into the studio. You will be prompted to create a Mindbody account which is how you can sign up for classes and see your active passes.
Register for the class you wish to attend. If the class is online, go to the designated Meeting ID for the class you want to attend. Read our Zoom guide.
If attending an In-Studio class, please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance to allow you enough time to set up and be ready for class. We look forward to seeing you on your mat!
At Artemis, we have tons of options for beginners. You can start with Flow Fundamentals, Iyengar, or Restorative depending on what type of practice you are looking for! You can jump into any of our Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga classes if you’ve had some experience with yoga before.
The best thing to do is to try several classes and keep an open mind. Every class at Artemis Yoga offers something a little different. No two teachers are exactly alike. Read the descriptions of each class on the Schedule page, and check out the teachers’ bios. Most importantly, remember that no matter which class you attend, listen to your body and go at the pace that is right for you.
We offer warm classes, closer to room temperature up to 75-80F. We do not offer hot yoga.
For a more vigorous yoga style, sign-up for a Vinyasa flow class. With two studios on-site, Artemis offers a breadth of styles for all types of yogis.
Wear comfortable clothes that are not baggy so the teacher will be able to see your postures and help you with alignment. Wearing layers is good too, so you can stay warm in the resting poses. No footwear is needed: yoga is practiced barefoot.
Most people bring their own yoga mats but we do provide complimentary mats. Artemis Yoga has everything that you need including blocks, chairs and a rope wall.
For safety reasons, students are encouraged to use antibacterial gym wipes to clean the mats or any yoga props that they have used. Artemis Yoga also sells yoga mats.
Most of us wish we were more flexible! Starting a yoga practice will help to increase flexibility, build strength and it will surely improve your posture and balance. Try a fundamental, restorative or Iyengar class to start out and remember, you can choose not to do a pose if it does not feel right for you.
The same poses are consistent across the four styles of yoga we offer – what differs is how they are taught. Vinyasa Flow links the poses to the breath, and Ashtanga does the same at a more rigorous and structured pace. Iyengar focuses more on alignment, pose-by-pose. Restorative is slow, calming, and restful to release the mind and body.
Artemis Yoga is committed to enable individuals with disabilities to participate as fully as possible in classes at our yoga studio. On the first level there is a wheelchair accessible entrance, yoga class studio and bathroom.
All classes on the first floor are wheelchair accessible in our flagship, primary studio. The lower level studio is reached by two stairways. In the event that a class in the lower level is not accessible to a participant, the studio owner or manager on-premise will adjust that class location to the first floor, grade level studio. With reasonable notice, this change will readily be made as an accommodation.
The request can be made in person, via email or telephone and advance notice of the request to the studio is appreciated. Artemis Yoga will make an earnest effort and attempt to provide reasonable accommodation pending timely notice by participants needing such accommodations.
Artemis Yoga will also work with the individual to ensure that participation in class is achievable. This may include providing additional props, chairs or hands-on assistance that the teacher is able to deliver while continuing to teach the class to all participants.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please reach out directly to the studio owner, Liz Padula.
